International Energy Conservation Code: The United States Department of Energy's Building Energy Codes Program is an information resource on national model energy codes. We work with other government agencies, state and local jurisdictions, national code organizations, and industry to promote stronger building energy codes and help states adopt, implement, and enforce those codes. The Program recognizes that energy codes maximize energy efficiency only when they are fully embraced by users and supported through education, implementation, and enforcement.

The latest version of COMcheck is Version 3.4.1 (released April 2007). See What's New in COMcheck for major changes in each new release.  Download COMcheck 3.4.1 (13.9 MB) (runs on Windows 2000 and XP) Supported Codes IECC: 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2006.  ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1: 1989, 1999, 2001 and 2004, and various state-developed energy codes.  The following states/jurisdictions have their own versions of the COMcheck software (Version 3.4.1) that include state specific examples and state contact information: Georgia, Massachusetts, New York. The generic COMcheck software above includes support for all of these state versions.

BCAP: The Building Codes Assistance Project is dedicated to assisting states in the adoption and implementation of statewide building energy codes. The value of energy efficiency in properly implemented construction standards is universally recognized as the easiest and most cost-effective way to help consumers save energy and money, make housing more affordable, and reduce air pollution. All of these benefits are difficult or impossible to capture if not taken into consideration at the time of construction.
